Oak Knoll Renaissance

Essence Development acquired and began renovation of Oak Knoll in December, 2025. This 256 unit Project-Based Section 8 property in Gary, Indiana has 256 units across 46 residential buildings. The project is funded by 4% tax credits and tax exempt bonds allocated by the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority. The project scope includes comprehensive upgrades to the residential units. In addition, the scope includes the creation and enhancement of outdoor spaces as well as significant upgrades to existing indoor amenities, all designed to elevate the overall living experience for the families at Oak Knoll Renaissance.
