Guilherme Pinto

Associate Intern, Development  

Guilherme Pinto is an intern at Essence Development, where he supports the firm’s affordable housing initiatives through financial analysis, underwriting, research, and development due diligence. His work includes evaluating project feasibility, reviewing market conditions, and assisting with various aspects of the development and financing process. Guilherme recently completed his MS in Civil Engineering at Columbia University, concentrating in real estate development, construction, and project finance. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering with a minor in Construction Management from New York University.

Before joining Essence, Guilherme worked as a Summer Acquisitions Associate at Tredway, underwriting Section 8, LIHTC, and GP-interest opportunities and supporting portfolio-level analyses. He also worked with SETH (Portugal) on large-scale residential and resort development, contributing to construction management for high-end villas and assisting with cost estimating for building and site-development projects.Guilherme also has experience with geotechnical engineering projects through his role at Drillgo on major subway expansion projects in Paris and Porto, supporting jet-grouting operations, tunneling coordination, and construction-management activities for subsurface and ground-improvement work.

Outside of work, he is active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and serves as a mentor and team lead with the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York. He enjoys exploring cities, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
